Mers Kutt, founder of ALL Computers Inc., has made 3 remarkable inventions and it took 30 years before he was acknowledged internationally in his field.
Being acknowledged however has never been his goal. What is important to him, and to all of us who are fighting for a better world, is that Mers has an incredible happening that we must not let slip by. Whether you have been involved with peaceful protests, Occupy gatherings, volunteer work here and abroad, charities or philanthropy, when you learn more you will wonder why we have not been doing it for many years.
We will not dwell on why for now, rather we will gather steam for an all-out fight which should net 10 billion dollars, 9.5 billion will be channeled through all of the above existing and powerful infrastructure to implement a plan for changes that will succeed beyond your wildest dreams.
Mers has the solution, and like each of his inventions, they were all supposed to be impossible, so much so that when he did not hear his latest idea was crazy and impossible, that was a sign for him to seriously reevaluate everything because he was obviously not aiming high enough.
He found the beauty of that approach is that the tougher the problem the simpler the solution. Sounds weird but it makes a lot of sense because first you cannot settle for anything less than the optimum solution when it is a huge problem, and ultimate solutions are invariably the simple ones because complex ones just does not work without years and years of fixing, like Windows.
We will now switch to Mers handling the rest of the story in the first person for expediency although he does find it very comfortable to see statements with too many repetitions of the word I and its derivatives.
I do not make the statement about Windows to put Gates or anyone else down as I would hope he would support our program once we launch it. I make it because it is a time to let the truth roll out and get rid of being nice and respectful because being phony and incorrectly cautious will impede if not defeat our goal.
My passion has always been mathematics because I loved the way everything tied together so precisely. Those of you familiar with the computer language APL will realize why I instantly fell in love with fantastic contribution Ken Iverson made to the world. With mathematics there was never any debating or deliberating. You either had the answer or you did not, there was no in-between place. Ratios and fractions were also very important because they put things in perspective and without a good perspective based on a good knowledge base and hard work, you have no hope for an optimum solution.
The other necessary ingredient is going right to the source of the problem at the very start. I will start by applying these two ingredients to the problem of eliminating the great disparity between the rich and the poor and saving the world from destruction by dealing with solutions at the world level. Later I will describe my thought process for each of my 3 inventions and you will find it noteworthy that I was not very good at predicting the impact of my 2nd and 3rd inventions. The original PC and the current Upgrade PC exceeded my expectations by a factor of a 1000 times. When releasing the PC in 1973, I predicted millions of PCs however we are into billions of PCs. With the tiny Upgrade PCs we are already at billions per annum!
The two most common sources of our problems are the low level of education and getting history right much earlier so that we will have a more accurate perspective for use in formulating the optimum solutions. Honesty and openness are also high on the list for ultimate solutions.
Sounds simple but it unfortunately not everyone will come on board. Politicians will continue to deem it to not be in their best interest of to raise the level of education for everyone. Corporations will continue their ways of hiding the truth and having history to be rewritten honestly many, many years later.
I have completely updated the text in the sections that appeared earlier of this website. They provide detailed information and background and will shortly add an unedited video that was recorded in 2013 and was kindly provided by the Canadian organization who recorded the interview at my condo in Fort Lauderdale. That was a few months before Chase improperly evicted me from my condo and they simply followed the antics of Jones Day who reneged on our contingency agreement to finance of the legal costs for the patent case in 2005 and forced me to virtually overnight refinance the condo I owned since 1981 with what later turned out to become the disastrous 'sub-prime mortgage' with premiums doubling and condo value falling from $775,000 to $300,000, then zero.
The world is a beautiful place, but it and its inhabitants need help and Alice Cooper put her finger right on it in her book when she said that we are the ones to do it! Please help me take advantage of the incredible opportunity that will disappear if we do not act now.
All PCs, smart phones, smart TVs and other smart electronic consumer devices include our patented 'upgrade circuitry'. Without our 'upgrade circuitry' they could not produce the products at such low prices yet operate at the GHz frequencies required for our graphic-based Internet. If we receive donations of $10 for at least one, or more if you are able, of the devices you are using ($10 is the amount we anticipate receiving for royalty) it will be a great help. We will even return it if we win the law suit and the companies like Apple, Samsung, Intel, Dell, HP, Sprint, Verizon, Blackberry etc. pay the royalty or damages. We would also show our appreciation in other ways because early and substantial funding at this time is vital.
Our current pIan is that I will be refiling shortly at the EVa Federal Court again and I will also handle the initial hearing as a pro se plaintiff. With sufficient funding we will be then be able to hire a leading patent firm to handle the case. I have a superior technical background to attorneys and my knowledge of patent law has come a long way since 2004. As a pro se I was able to eliminate the $400,000 overbilling by Jones Day at the California Arbitration hearings. Also our earlier attorney was able to reject the bid by Intel for $1M fees because the Magistrate Judge at EVa Federal Court could not believe that our attorney at the Summary Judgment hearing did not raise the important findings the Court heard for the first time at the Fees hearing.

The web site 'akuttabove.com' was set up by Mers as an alternate entry path to this common web site to emphasize that we are now targeting many other disciplines with the same successful approach that was used for inventing at all three of the companies Mers founded: Consolidated Computer in 1965, Micro Computer Machines in 1971, and ALL Computers in 1975. The end goal of making the world a better, fairer and safer place remains intact. Mers' direct description follows!
I never imagined that the invention of Key-Edit, which Don Pamenter and I began working on when I was at Queen's University in 1965, would have such a huge impact on so many of the large blue chip companies worldwide. It was remarkable how much was accomplished by the small team of hardware, software and system people comprised of Arnold Smith, Maurice Jeffery and Bill Kooij on weekends would converge onto Kingston from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal to join Don and me.
My only disappointment was these corporate giants made gigantic savings with the huge reduction of data preparation staff when using Key-Edit and this was an opportune time to ensure that everyone wins from the new technologies. Instead of having so many people lose their job, they should have begun shortening the work hours. A shorter week results in a higher standard of living for workers at all levels, and the corporations also benefit with increased profits due to the other benefits derived from the new technologies.
This is a case where 'akuttabove.com' is the obvious approach. The perspective shows that rekindling the economy, whether it is by getting people to spend more or lowering the interest rates, neither will make the problem go away. The number of jobs is forever being reduced by automation and that is at the source of the problem and it needs a permanent problem applied at this source. Continually reducing the work week is one way to add jobs over a longer period. Increasing the number of people we feed and look after in the world is another long term solution which we should incorporate into the overall program.
We Need Funding
We are currently in court with Intel and have been greatly hindered because Intel has bullied us with their deep pockets and taken full advantage of the idiosyncrasies of the legal system. They retained a large legal firm that plays the game in court much better than the lawyer we hired on a full contingency basis. Their game plan involves delaying and stalling as much as possible and bullying us at every turn. Misleading the Judge and even lying in court is not a problem for them and that is exactly what they have been doing.
We lost our case at Summary Judgment in 2005 but with the higher demands on the PC, Intel and others had to switch from a slower solution which did not infringe directly to the optimal directly infringing solution they now use. We are on the verge of refiling our case after dealing with many obstacles resulting from the earlier loss and financing in general. Our case has now dragged on for close to 10 years however to our advantage in the interim the entire computer industry has adopted our upgrade circuitry as a standard because it has saved them costs in almost every section of their companies from design to manufacturing, inventory and sales.
We now desperately need funds to finance this initial suit and funds we raise from this suit and settlements will be used to finance other suits that will follow against infringers that would not agree to a settlement.
We are not after charitable donations at this time but we are out to create a large amount from the patent for charity. What we are after now is a donation of $10 for each PC you have for three big reasons. First, it can show your appreciation for the invention of the PC. Second, it can show your appreciation for the invention of the patented technology that resulted in the current unprecedented microprocessor speed-up of 80 to 1, compared with the average increase of 2 to 1 in all previous generations of the processor chip. Third, and not the least, this will shame Intel and hopefully prompt them to pay this royalty themselves regardless of whether or not we win in the U.S. Supreme Court.

How we got Here
Being an inventor and having lived through a lot during my 50 year career in computers, I have experienced the highs beyond my fondest hopes, and the lows that accompanied these highs, and shockingly from the most incredible and least suspected sources as I saw my first 2 companies stolen from underneath me then driven into a deep hole before exiting all together!
I also had a few incidents with ALL
Computers during its 32 years, mainly from 2 giant competitors that feared the remarkable performance our products had with our 1st patented technology. We will be providing further details on this and on the infringement of our 2nd patent by Intel with all their Pentiums and Celerons. Intel has bullied us in court to date but in the process we have provided positive proof that they infringe and also took advantage of the Judge who has limited knowledge of patent law and high technology.
Further, our expert corroborated these with statements to the court with sworn written statements under penalty of perjury, something Intel experts completely sidestepped.
Recognition for our inventions came slowly but when it came for the invention of the PC, albeit on the 30th anniversary, it came with a big bang that I will never forget. First and foremost I became a Member of the Order of Canada, the highest award for contributions to Canada or to the world at large. That is an honor that one does not even dream about. Next was being called a legend of our times by Ken Iverson, the person in computing that I idolized most. Without his invention of APL we could not have invented the advanced, powerful personal computer that we did at MCM.
Other examples of recognition included the IEEE Annals of the History of Computing cover story in the April, 2003 quarterly edition, the 2003 article in the CORE publication of the Computer History Museum along with the MCM/70 exhibit of the in their museum, the Silicon Valley Mercury News international coverage, the Technical Excellence Award for ALL Chargecard, a Lifetime Award from the Canadian Information Processing Society, and all of these complemented by the broad coverage in Canada by many publications led by front page coverage in the Globe and Mail, the Canadian national newspaper. All of these melted away any regrets for the late recognition.
Personal Goals For Mers
My goal is to bring some creativity and common sense to our fight for a fair world with peace and good will to all. We must rise above the cries of impossible, you are crazy, give it up and feel proud because you could not have tried harder. However the fact is we can elevate the world to where we no longer sweep under the carpet just because they happen out of sight in other parts of the world, or because that is the way it has always been so why 'change'.
Change is all important. Let's see how well the 'akuttabove' approach applies to President Obama. He won the election on 'change' against some huge odds. He has not found it easy but he has stuck in there with an unbelievable schedule and extreme politically motivated ploys to lower his ratings. History will show, hopefully in much less than 30 years, if he had done nothing else but get the world thinking positively along broader lines as well as initiating a national health plan, he may just become known as one of the very best Presidents. With health care he definitely had a good perspective on the issue because he knew he had to ram through anything at all because even with the terribly compromised 'Obama Care', once it is implemented there is no turning back.
In the UK, a national health plan was brought in when WW2 was an influencing factor. Later, the rich and powerful people tried to abolish the plan. However the people were so happy with it that they turned out in record numbers and won the vote so soundly that the R&P never tried again. In Canada, Tommy Douglas who became a Prime Minister only at the provincial level, fought long and hard and succeeded in bringing in a national health plan. A few years ago he was voted the greatest Canadian ever in a nation-wide vote.
President Obama had a good perspective on the healthcare challenge and realized that getting it started was the key regardless of initial compromises he had to make. The strong support from the masses would later both protect the plan and allow it to gradually eliminate the huge expense for the profits earned by redundant companies in the middle, and this process may also bring down the grotesquely high cost of health care and bring it in line with the other major countries in the world.

color, race, country, health and wealth of a person.Intel also misled the Judge to believe that the Celeron processors did not include a board when all of the Intel Pentium and Celeron processors did include a board. Further, claim 5 of the US patent 5,506,981, which alone defined upgrade circuitry invention, specifically did not include a board as a limitation. As a result, the presence of a board should never have even been a consideration but Intel counsel made it into a major item.
Simple things like telling the truth and correcting the glaring flaws in democracy at home can have a tremendous impact on how other countries relate to you. Having one's own house in order before pointing out flaws in other governments is the best first step to redirect the talents of hackers from spreading viruses to positive, constructive projects. They are more educated than terrorists so that helping them to eliminate gross inequalities will prove to them that approach is the right answer, not virus attacks and wars.
The most important thing we must do is attack the problems at the source. That is how I invented my 3 breakthrough products in computing and I could not have done it if I were so bold at the start that I believed I could create a product like the personal computer as we now know it. Well I was not that bold, but I did create it and that is the important lesson. Get on the right track from the start by tackling the problem at the source and amazing things well beyond your expectations can happen!
With the PC, I actually fell short of what I set out to build. In spite of this, it became what it is today, so widespread in its use that it is a part of the life of everyone. That is something that I could not have visualized in my wildest dream. Never did I expect anything I developed would ever reach such heights because for one, who am I, no genius, just a guy that joined IBM in 1957 and hoped he could make the grade to hold the job and hopefully rub shoulders with a few of the giant intellects at IBM. I did not find those giants, just people like me except I believe I had more drive and perseverance than most, which was required in good quantity on many occasions to take the project to the very end.
Ironically, my goal as a kid was to one day find a way without war, to free the people of Ukraine, the country where my parents were born. Ukraine, because of its natural, rich black soil, oil, coal and minerals, its famous and feared Cossacks were constantly called upon to fight off attacks by its neighbors, one by one over many centuries. Most recently it was occupied by Russia and approximately 10 million Ukrainians were starved to death by Stalin in the famine of 1933. Finally, with the fall of communism and Russia, Ukraine was free again without a war and without my help. However, the irony is that while I was not a part of that, I believe the PC along with the Internet will prove to be our most powerful tools in solving the world problems. I never foresaw any of that but, if we now capitalize upon what we have learned we can make a significant contribution to solving problems of the world, well beyond those of just one country.
What I wanted to create from the outset was a personal computer for people to always have it quietly by their side and that is why we designed it to work without a fan. That way the PC would become an extension of the way one thinks something I probably heard from someone and the most likely person was Kenneth E. Iverson.
Ken is a true legend of our times. He created APL, a programming language which is now called J, that to this day is probably still the most powerful language in the world. In its simplest form it can be amazingly easy to use, particularly when using tables. While Ken did not visualize a personal computer because APLtypically ran on million dollar mainframes, he did visualize individual usage on typewriter terminals. The APLnotation was actually first used to advantage without computers to define solutions with algorithms written on paper, thereby serving as an extension of the human thought process.
The first PC was designed and built at my second company, Micro Computer Machines and was called MCM/70. It used the very first microprocessor chip, the Intel 8008, a microprocessor chip we almost shared ownership with Intel and more details on that will be provided later. The MCM/70 had the entire APL language along with operating system all stored in 100K of ROM.. It necessarily had advanced features in software such as virtual memory to overcome the non-existence of random access devices such as floppy and hard disks and the availability of large memories as in mainframe computers.
History has shown that it was not until well after the Apple was introduced that it took off with volume sales. The MCM/70 never achieved such sales (there is much more to this story) but it sure set the stage for the Apple and IBM PC that followed. The sales took off because of the introduction of spreadsheets to the PC.
Although it has never been publicized nor acknowledged to this day, this would not have happened at that time without the precedent of the MCM/70 squeezing the most powerful computer language and the Mother of all spreadsheets along with an operating system into a microprocessor based computer. This is so because all these spreadsheets were written in APL and APLbeing an interpretive language means that like the original MCM/70, Apple had APL resident with Visicalc, also the IBM PC, which was introduced 8 years after the MCM/70, had APL internally with Lotus 123.
There is much more to say and we will attempt to cover all
of the information on his web site with a steady stream of news and historical articles, as well as blogs and other forms.
While I have been the only employee in the company since 1996, without any salary I might add, I am very much not alone. I have come across so many true saints that have made it possible for me to get to this point when so much is happening. I will acknowledge them more appropriately in the future but I want to at least mention a few that have made significant contributions just recently as well as Ian Farr of Exabit Consulting who designed this website in 2008 without compensation. During this past period we have had well over 300,000 people visit this site and register. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to update the site earlier and apologize to all of you. The current status is close to a completed update of the site and if I am able to get some help in the interim we will also begin using the forum sections of the site.
For now I will single out Michael Fortkort, definitely a Good Lawyer in contrast to too many others. For those of you that have not read the new book "Lawyers Gone Bad" by Philip Slayton, please do so because this gentleman is very special! There are no holds barred by Philip who was the Dean of Law for many years at University of Western Ontario, a leading CanadianUniversity.
Michael Fortkort of east Virginia who is actually a lawyer who has never strayed and I can without the slightest hesitation say he is a role model and icon for a "LAWYER STAYED GOOD". Michael has helped me for quite some time without compensation and he will soon be very active again as his expertise is negotiating settlements for infringement of patents. He stepped in when the other lawyers defaulted both at the Appeals and Supreme Court levels. One other person I will single out at this time is my lifetime, closest friend and a true believer in the company, Stan Goldman. There are so many more and I hope some of you reading this article will follow in their footsteps. As Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker so aptly put it with the title of her new book - "We are the ones we have been waiting for"!
Alice was mainly referring to how George W. Bush gave us a huge boost, albeit far from intentional, by showing all of us how far we can be misled without even realizing it was happening (read her book, it is a real upper from a very bright, caring and brave lady). Turns out, one of the many places that her statement applies is right here in the computer field. Intel has been misleading all of us for 12 years and I dare say a high percentage of us, including leading experts in the field are still not aware of it! This is expanded upon in the opening sections.
Poll Posting is not currently in use as we are not staffed to handle it, particularly now, as I am concentrating on the major challenges facing us with funding, refiling the patent court case, and acting pro se for the opening of the case. If sufficient funds are not timely received to hire leading patent counsel, I will continue acting pro se and with the approval of the Court I will at least become associated with a patent firm and their office to assist me. I have come a long way with my experience and knowledge of patent law and court proceedings since the trial in 2004 when I was a complete novice. We lost at Summary Judgment in spite of my having produced block level Intel circuitry documents which proved infringement however were not properly presented by our counsel. Further Intel counsel misled the Judge on technical matters and our counsel not only added confusion but also lost the appeal by untimely refiling of the appeal after jurisdiction was finally successfully transferred to the Federal Court of Appeals.
The Intel Cover-Up
It is important to note that the Intel cover-up took place during the Andy
Grove era, not to be confused with the previous Intel-the-Good era when Bob Noyce, Intel Founder and Inventor of the silicon based integrated
circuit chip, ran the company that made all of us shareholders at the time
swell with well-earned pride; this era ended when Bob stepped down.

We not only have proof that our patented technology is being used by Intel in all Intel Pentium and Celeron products, we also know it is being infringed by other products on a large scale. Knowing and proving it turns out is not enough. This legal world is something else and I will elaborate on this in future postings. I will say that at the district court level Intel counsel seriously and immorally misled Judge Lee, and then later actually repeated it to the Panel at the Oral hearing of the Court of Appeals Federal Circuit (recorded on tape and downloadable from their website).
That combination proved to be our downfall. Judge Lee is well respected in criminal law and I know he is an honest and well-intentioned person. He personally alerted us at the outset that he was not knowledgeable in either high technology or patent law. Early in the case the public cover-up by Intel worked its way into the courtroom and Judge Lee accepted misleading and ethically improper statements and a crucial false statement by Intel lead counsel implying Intel did not manufacture and sell motherboards which infringed directly, and without presenting proof of direct infringement the Judge ruled that alone was sufficient reason for to grant Intel summary judgment.
I will expand further on the reasons the Judge granted summary judgment against us and prevented us from having our day in court:
Intel experts surprisingly denied very basic, simple facts in Electrical Engineering in their reports, but both Intel experts dared not swear to them or to anything else because they did not submit a single signed declaration under penalty of perjury. The expert from ALL however submitted two such formal signed declarations. One such fact could have easily been made in Court had either counsel directed the Judge to read the next few lines in a paragraph of an Intel selling document being referenced in Court. It very simply stated the reasons that the readers should buy Intel motherboards over those supplied by others and that document alone proved beyond any doubt that Intel was selling motherboards.
One ignored fact is that motherboards contain all of the relevant circuitry and given that circuitry read onto the patent, it follows that motherboards infringe directly. However Intel lead counsel misled the Court by falsely claiming Intel never manufactured motherboards and this had a major negative impact on the case because they then convinced the Court that although they induced customers to use an infringing product, they were not infringing because ALL Computers failed to cite a single example of direct infringement, a prerequisite for proving inducement. The claim by our expert that he did not cite an example because it was such a widely known fact and that there were examples everywhere, however this was rejected.
The Intel document citing their motherboard would have sufficed and would have had a huge impact on the case as Judge Lee when granting Summary Judgment cited this and also added that it alone was sufficient reason to grant Summary Judgment.
Earlier Times with
During his career Mers met and got to know three computer giants as friends and colleagues - Bob Noyce, Gene
Amdahl and Ken Iverson. This article will recount some of his time with Bob Noyce. The others will follow later.
Bob and Mers met early in their careers. They would meet for dinner or lunch when Mers traveled to Silicon Valley, or at a computer conference. At these meetings they would bring each other up to date with what was happening in their respective fields of expertise - Bob with semiconductor design and manufacture, particularly the RAM,
ROM and microprocessor chips and Mers with the application of semiconductors to end user products, particularly the
Key-Edit data preparation system and the MCM/70 personal computer.
Mers has a lot of stories from the old days which will be
related in future postings but the one that always pops up immediately is
when Mers met with Bob at Intel offices in the spring of 1973. Bob jumped up
and down and then ran over to Gordon Moore to have him come over to see the very first personal computer, the MCM/70, going through it paces with even the first PC game - a simulated horse race. The PC was built at the second company Mers founded, Micro Computer Machines. That is where Mers also coined the name 'personal computer'.
A close second event with Bob took place earlier in 1970 when Bob and Mers met at the new Dome in Houston at the Joint Computer Conference. They were both huddled over a small cocktail table in the bar drawing their separate but similar versions of a microprocessor chip on cocktail napkins. They were both inspired by the work of Ted Hoff and others that worked directly on the 4 bit design of the Intel 4004 calculator chip however calculators manipulated numbers only, no text and special characters and hardly capable of computing in the business and scientific world.
Mers wanted an 8 bit version of their 4 bit calculator chip equipped with a subset of the already simple PDP 8 instruction set. The 4004 fell short because calculators could not handle data which is what computers and Key-Edit required. Key-Edit was Mers' first invention and it used the PDP 8 minicomputer in a timeshared environment for data preparation. Mers wanted a microprocessor chip in each of the key-stations thereby allowing many more stations to be controlled by the central PDP 8. Key-Edit became the world leader in data preparation and caused the demise of punch cards and the largest division at IBMwith sales exceeding a billion dollars in the late 60's.
Bob also wanted to build an 8 bit version. He was previously
approached by another company Datapoint, who had long
since lost interest. The Intel Board turned Bob down cold because they claimed the
microprocessor chip has no future. They rejected microprocessors because they amazingly reasoned that you would only have one microprocessor chip in a computer but you have many dozens of Ram chips.
Mers offered to finance the $100,000 project and Bob welcomed this and took it back to the Board after the conference. They finally gave in but not because they became believers, rather it was to produce a promotional freebee to customers that bought their Ram chips. They still believed the microprocessor chip had no future.
Where would we all be if the Board never decided to build
the microprocessor, even if though it was built for the wrong reason.
The MCM/70 was well ahead
of its time as it had features that the IBM
PC still did not have 10 years later. No doubt the Intel Board began to believe in
microprocessors once they heard about the progress of the project at
ALLComputers which began in December 1971, and further reinforced
when Bob and Gordon both witnessed the MCM/70 in
Can one imagine where Intel would be today without microprocessor chips because essentially all the other divisions they launched were either disbanded or sold
in the years that followed. Not only did the microprocessor chip survive, it alone was responsible for Intel
becoming a world giant. In spite of his, in the post-Noyce era Intel began promoting the 4004 calculator
chip to be the first microprocessor because Intel was so severely embarrassed when they tried but failed
to copy the upgrade technology design ALL Computers developed for the Intel 8088 into their next generation 286 microprocessor. However Intel failed miserably as ALLChargecard operated the 286 chip 5 times in 1988 faster than the Intel design.
Equally so, where would they be TODAY without ALL Computers patented UPGRADE technology. The Pentium processor was introduced in 1992 with INTEL INSIDE but INTEL INSIDE had become a misnomer on two counts.
It was actually Intel circuitry plus ALLComputers upgrade circuitry that was inside. Intel finally got it right and copied the memory management upgrade circuitry from the ALLChargecard into all their later processors so that the Pentium processor gained a 5:1 speedup thanks to ALL. Three years later the Intel Pentium processors got another 3:1 boost from us however this time it was gigantic because our upgrade circuitry also removed the 120MHz barrier. As a result, while the 1992 Pentium processors at 66MHz were not affected, by 1994 they began installing our upgrade circuitry in the 100MHz to 120MHz range.
Summarizing, had ALL circuitry not removed the 120MHz barrier, even a PC with
3.0 GHz processor would operate at only 120MHz. With the barrier eliminated, ALL circuitry producing the 3x step increase was still required before the PC could switch from a lagging text based Internet to a high resolution graphic-based Internet.
The PC operating fast enough to provide a high resolution graphic based Internet is what caused the the explosive growth of the Internet and the PC in 1995.
As a final comment, all of this would not have been possible without the factor of
5x increase in PC performance PC provided earlier by the 1988 award winning ALLChargecard upgrade circuitry which managed memory much more efficiently than the Intel microprocessor chip.
Between 1988 and 1995, the highest frequency Intel Processors being shipped increased by a 3x factor which when combined with the 15x factor resulted in a 45x performance increase of the PC.
By 1995, ALL Computers had contributed this massive increase in PC performance to Intel, however Intel, instead of the hugs Mers received earlier from Bob Noyce, this time he received neither hugs nor royalties as Bob's successor Andy Grove openly admitted that he told staff to just take technology from others. His quote was "It is easier to seek forgiveness than to ask permission."
Having copied the patented circuitry in 1995, Intel should have acknowledged that
it was actually INTEL & ALL INSIDE the Pentium processors rather than just "INTEL INSIDE". Instead they launched a huge program to cover up their infringing use of ALL Computers circuitry. It was not until 2006 that Intel was forced to abandon use of sub-standard circuitry design to hide their use. This will be elaborated upon in a future article at which time we will also provide information about our filing our patent case not only against Intel but also many other companies who are much larger infringers than Intel because they all also targeted the larger consumer market with mobile phones and other electronic products which all included the high speed tiny PCs.
Introduction with Random Relevant Points
The name ï¿½accelerator boardï¿½ was assigned to clocking circuitry which comprises
the technology. Claim 5 completely defines the technology by listing all the
elements included in the technology directly after the word ï¿½comprisingï¿½.
These elements include an enhanced microprocessor chip, enhanced with the
clocking circuitry and optionally a ï¿½small printed circuit boardï¿½ (PCB) where
the chip is mounted. To date it appears the circuitry has always included the
optional PCB, initially because all the circuitry could not fit into the chip,
but more recently to accommodate over 1000 contact points on the chip.
Claim 1, on the other hand defines a rather limited combination of certain
computer system boards (motherboards) and the accelerator board defined in
claim 5. The computer system boards are limited to those older boards which
included a socket designed for a ï¿½first microprocessorï¿½ chip which had a much
smaller number of contact points.
Claim 1 deals with PC users upgrading their older motherboards by plugging the
new PCBs into the socket and they all included faster microprocessors enhanced
further with the accelerator board clocking circuitry and was used to replace
the slow first microprocessor.
Claim 5 defines only an accelerator board, not a combination, and it infringes
directly because all the required elements are included in the new processor. and infringing directly this provides a major advantage .
The accelerator board circuitry works with or without a socket on the computer
system board and users seldom are required to perform the plug-in process
described in claim 1, rather it is either plugged in or soldered onto the
computer system board on the production line or by the retailer.
To operate, accelerator board needs only a single clock signal as input from a
motherboard, as stated in the second element of claim 5.
Physically, the processor need only be an enhanced microprocessor chip by
including all the limitations listed after the word ï¿½comprisingï¿½ in the
enhanced chip, however once it was practical to fit all the electronics inside
the enhanced microprocessor, the board was still the best solution for dealing
with so many contact points in such a small area, which by then numbered well
over 1000. To this day, processors continue to have an enhanced microprocessor
mounted on a PCB.
ALL Computers Inc.ï¿½s first PC performance boost came in 1988 and it is now a
standard item in all processors. We added advanced memory management circuitry
to microprocessors and outperformed Intelï¿½s by an average factor of 5 times.
Accelerator board added a 6 times performance boost for a total of 30 times in
products like the iPhone.
Accelerator boards also brought another huge new benefit to todayï¿½s new
motherboards and new PCs. It reduced costs significantly in almost every area
of new PCs, and Smart products which include a tiny PC. A single design
of a motherboard could be used for dozens of different models of a product. The
cost of design, manufacture, marketing and inventory all dropped significantly.
Reduced cost of inventory is a good example. Most PC based products include
sockets designed for all their new processors. Whether the new PC or new
motherboards is shipped with or without a processor, the retailer can install
any of a number of other processors in minutes.
